Our medium-sized family business based in Heidenau near Dresden has a production area of around 14,000 square meters. On this area we have more than 100 ultra-modern machines at our disposal, which are operated by 190 qualified specialists. What is CNC machining and what advantages does it offer?
CNC machining is a computer-controlled process for machining workpieces using turning and milling processes. It enables precise, repeatable and highly automated production. Which materials can be machined using CNC machining?
A wide range of materials can be machined in CNC machining, including metals such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel and copper, but also plastics such as POM or PE. Each material requires special settings and tools in order to achieve optimum results. For example, machining stainless steel requires a higher cutting speed and special cooling lubricants, while plastics are often machined at lower speeds. How does the CNC machining process work?
The CNC machining process begins with the creation of a digital model, which is read into the CNC machine. The workpiece is then clamped in the machine and machined. Once the process is complete, the workpieces are removed and, if necessary, reworked. CNC machining thus enables efficient series production without any loss of quality.
